Midland Park School District Curriculum

The Midland Park district curriculum guides encompass the knowledge and skills students are expected to learn as they progress through our school system. The district curriculum has been developed according to standards and expectations set forth by the New Jersey Department of Education.  These documents outline what students will experience in each course, i.e., lesson objectives, appropriate pacing, essential questions, instructional resources, and assessments.

Using the curriculum as a foundation, teachers develop instruction reflective of the learning objectives in each guide, accessing a myriad of resources to engage and instruct students each day.  Through this process, teachers adapt and differentiate instruction to ensure strong student engagement and the attainment of identified goals.  Over time, the majority of the content in each curriculum will remain the same, however, curriculum guides are fluid documents.  Therefore, as state standards change, or new mandates are brought forward, teachers will modify instruction to meet instructional requirements and best serve our students.
