The Midland Park Board of Education formally recognized the extraordinary contributions of Sandra Criscenzo and Brian McCourt on December 16, 2025, as they concluded their long-standing tenures. Together, the two members have dedicated over three decades of service to the district, with Criscenzo serving for eighteen years and McCourt for fifteen. Their leadership has been instrumental in shaping the district’s growth, from hiring superintendents to guiding major infrastructure projects and implementing the community’s full-day kindergarten program.
Sandra Criscenzo’s service was deeply informed by her 33-year career as an educator and a 2015–2016 "Teacher of the Year" recipient. A resident of Midland Park for 25 years, she balanced her board duties with extensive volunteerism as a Girl Scout leader, recreation cheerleading coach, and founding member of the Midland Park Public Education Foundation. The Board highlighted her unique ability to bring the perspective of an accomplished educator and a devoted parent to the table, ensuring student well-being remained the central focus of every policy decision.
Brian McCourt, a lifelong resident and 1979 graduate of Midland Park High School, leaves behind a legacy of financial stewardship and community advocacy. As the Executive Vice President and CFO of Bogota Savings Bank, McCourt applied his professional expertise to strengthen the district’s budgeting, contract negotiations, and referendums.]Most recently serving as Board President, he was also recognized for his "steady judgment" and decades of volunteer leadership in youth athletics, including over 20 years with the town’s softball program.
The resolutions of appreciation, which will be entered into the official minutes of the Board, celebrate the lasting impact both members have made on the families and students of Midland Park. As they transition from their official roles, the Board expressed its deepest gratitude for their "unwavering commitment" and "enduring dedication". While their formal terms have ended, the district noted that their contributions to academic programs and community spirit will continue to benefit the school system for years to come.
