Based on the celebrated Harper Lee novel of the same name, To Kill a Mockingbird is the story of six-year-old Jean Louise Finch, nicknamed Scout, and her father, Atticus Finch, a small-town lawyer in the American South who defends a black man put on trial. The story touches on issues of prejudice, poverty, racial injustice and childhood innocence. To Kill a Mockingbird, written in 1960, has become one of the most popular and well-regarded books of all time. Today, The Glenn Miller Orchestra is still one of the greatest bands of all time! Under the direction of Nick Hilscher,  it is the most popular and sought- after Big Band.  They play ALL THE FAVORITE BIG BAND HITS; “Moonlight Serenade”, “Tuxedo Junction”, “In the Mood”, “A String of Pearls”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”.  The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all the dance band leaders back in the swing era of the 1930’s and 40’s.   At the height of the Orchestra’s popularity, He disbanded the band to volunteer for the Army. He then organized the famous Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band. It went to Europe to entertain servicemen and then on December 15, 1944, he was lost in the disappearance of the single- engine plane bound for France. Because of popular demand, the Miller estate authorized the formation of the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956. The band has proven staying power, and its popularity has never seemed to wane. The Miller sound lives forever!
