Dr. Marie Cirasella

Midland Park School District

 Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Marie Cirasella

Throughout my years spent in education, I’ve kept this picture of myself as a kindergarten student close at hand.  During the busiest of days and through the most challenging of times for my profession, I have remained grateful for the visual reminder of this photograph.  I was a student when this picture was taken and remain a student to this day.  I know there is a part of me that is still a kindergartener, excited by the learning embedded in every moment and filled with wonder at all there is to know.  The goal of becoming a lifelong learner never truly ends and it is somewhat paradoxical that “never ending” signals accomplishment.  When observing students and instruction at all grade levels in Midland Park, we seek to identify teaching practices that facilitate attainment of lifelong learning skills.  Sparking the curiosity in students that fosters independent inquiry which moves beyond the boundaries of the school day is an overarching objective for our work…the scholarly gift that keeps on giving.

Midland Park is a wonderful community with great schools.  It is without question that New Jersey’s public education system is in a period of transition and my goal is to provide leadership which supports a shared determination to remain focused on what is best for children.  I am fortunate to work with enthusiastic, experienced colleagues and a knowledgeable, supportive Board of Education.  Together with a dedicated community, I’m certain we will work collaboratively to provide the best in public education to the students of Midland Park.  Thank you for taking time to visit the Superintendent’s page of our district website!
